St Mary’s, Hartley Wespall
The oldest parts of St Mary’s date from about 1330 so it was a privilege for us to help bring the church back to its former glory.
Externally we carefully repaired the render on the back wall protecting the almost 700 year old timber frame. It was then coated in multiple layers of white limewash. All windows where prepared and painted as well.
Internally, blown and damaged plaster was removed and re plastered. Scaffolding was erected over the organ to provide access above, and the pews where lifted allowing us full access to the walls. All walls were finished in a breathable paint. Broken floor tiles where replaced as well as giving the entire floor a deep clean with specialist cleaning products designed to not damage the fragile tiles.
